Sewage Treatment Plant

Sewage for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Sewage banned from rivers and streams, banned from ocean dumping, is now spread on agricultural fields - our food supply.

Did you ever wonder where the chemicals from the cleaning and body care products that you use in your home go after they go down the drain? If you are on a septic system - out into the environment and back into your water. If you are on a public sewer system - you're going to love this... this toxic soup is renamed 'biosolids' and dumped on agricultural fields - our food and our food's food.field

NOTE: Toxic waste dumping, I mean biosolid application, is allowed in organic agriculture.

The toxins - I mean biosolids, including heavy metals like lead and arsenic, are spread on agricultural fields. The chemicals in the soil increase with every application. Plants take up the toxins, I mean biosolids, from the soil through their roots, stems, leaves, seeds and fruit. We feed this to ourselves, our children and our feed animals. We're poisoning our own food supply with our toxic waste. We're not only talking about things like phthalates, parabens and bisphenol A, but also all the anti-depressants, cancer drugs, and other pharmaceutical remains that go down our drains and toilets. Plants process poop, not pollution.

foodIs it a wonder than cancer rates, and the rates of almost all long-term diseases, has tripled in the last thirty years? The World Health Organization expects that the rate of all cancers will double again in the next twenty years. We can't financially afford more expensive health care to cover the costs of the extreme increase in sickness now - how will we deal with double the expense? Most people can't afford health care now, how will it be when it's twice more what it is today? How many more people have to suffer before people realize that the time for change is *now*? We can't wait for government intervention. Our food and water are becoming more contaminated with household chemicals every single day while our government drags their feet. Take it on yourself to reduce your contribution to the chemicals in the food supply by reducing your use of common household cleaning and body care products.

Here are the studies and some other info regarding toxin spreading, I mean biosolid application to agricultural fields...

stream
We used to dump it in the streams, when it was a lot less toxic - but poisoned the water and contaminated our fish so that was banned by the EPA.

ocean
We used to dump it off the coasts, when it was a bit less toxic - but that destroyed beaches and contaminated our seafood so that was banned by the EPA and international treaties.

field
Now we dump this toxic sludge right on the soils for our food supply and the food supply of the animals we eat and the EPA does not have the funding to monitor the results.

Why do we have to limit fat and red meat? Animals store toxins in their fat cells to protect the liver. Chemical waste from homes, factories, farms and combustion of fossil fuels saturates the soil, water and air. The chemicals that are dumped on our agricultural feilds are fed to us, our children and the animals we depend on for food.

People used to eat lard with every meal and were healthy, with far less cancer and chronic illness. Most long-term chronic illnesses have tripled in the last 30 years in correlation with chemicals used in the home and plastics that leach toxins into our environment. Our food supply is toxic. You can make a difference by reducing the use of chemicals in your home. The chemicals we use today will be in our food and water tomorrow, as well as the food for our meat and dairy products.
