Letter to Key Executives at Johnson and Johnson I printed the Johnson and Toxin ad on the front of the envelope. Think we'll get a response? Emily Patterson Sunflower Naturals Monroe Township, PA 18618 emily@sunflowernaturals.com May 18, 2011 William C. Weldon 1 Johnson and Johnson Plaza New Brunswick, NJ 08933 Dear Mr. Weldon, People are talking more frequently about the fact that our health is declining. Asthma is rampant in our children. Obesity is an epidemic. Cancers are out of control. There are many of us who remember that not too long ago, these conditions were relatively rare - especially in children. We have started questioning the ingredients in the products we use on ourselves, our children and in our homes. Some of us believe the studies that show harm and have removed the products that contain risky ingredients. What we have found is that when we remove the products that contain risky ingredients, we feel better, we lose weight, our children are *miraculously* cured of their chronic conditions such as asthma and allergies. We look at companies like yours that make products that contain risky ingredients. Some of the ingredients are even used to cause conditions in human tissue to study treatments for humans. We see that you sell the diagnostic equipment for these conditions. You sell the surgical equipment for these conditions. You also sell the drugs for these conditions. A lot of us are tired of being sick. We're tired of the expensive medical bills, health insurance and lost pay from having to take time off work for ourselves and our children. We're tired of drugs, surgeries, doctors and emergency room visits. We need safe products. We need all of the ingredients listed on the label. We need healthy families and healthy children. Sunflower Naturals has become a trusted source of information regarding the potential health hazards in the products we use every day. It would be so nice if Johnson and Johnson would turn the brand into a source for truly natural, non-toxic, baby care, body care, hair care and home care products that are made with sustainable, non-polluting ingredients. A source for reliable information regarding the risks associated with many ingredients in consumer goods that have the potential to cause harm at either point-of-use or after use with environmental releases or both. All created in a sustainable, fossil fuel-free, green facility. As more and more consumers turn away from the risks of conventional, it may be time for Johnson and Johnson to make the change to a sustainable, non-toxic future with regard to your products. Wishing you all the best, Emily Patterson Cc: William C. Weldon Dominic J. Caruso Stephen J. Cosgrove Russell C. Deyo William D. Perez Ian Davis Colleen A. Goggins Sherilyn S.
