Johnson and Johnson is a conglomeration of over 250 companies (click here for the list). These companies are divided into three distinct areas: Consumer goods (such as baby care, Aveeno, Neutrogena), Medical diagnostic equipment (such as blood glucose monitors, joint replacements, blood screening products) and Pharmaceuticals (such as asthma/allergy medication, cancer drugs, pain management, diabetes management).

If you notice, Johnson and Johnson chose to continue formaldehyde, a 'known human carcinogen, in their consumer products. In addition, formaldehyde dramatically increases the risk of asthma and allergies, eczema and skin disorders as well as other medical conditions (all of which are soaring) that require pharmaceutical treatment for symptom control. I wonder why, if Johnson and Johnson is truly concerned for our health, they would choose to continue to include ingredients in consumer goods that are, well, unhealthy? Probably because the poor health caused by continued exposure to formaldehyde and other ingredients continues sales of medical diagnostic equipment and pharmaceuticals.

The Johnson and Johnson business model is quite simple: Poison, diagnose and treat. Each step is highly profitable and great for shareholders. And those that die from the medical conditions or medications, well, they're just casualties of capitalism.
