The FACTS:
Most forms of cancers have tripled in the last 30 to 40 years. What appears to be a common starting point for the dramatic increase in rates of most cancers is around the early to mid 1980's. Considering that most forms of cancer take approximately 10 to 20 years to develop, it might help if we look at what was introduced to consumer goods approximately 1965, or between 1960 and 1970 that continues to be used today.
As for documentation regarding my claim that most forms of cancers have tripled, I could have kept on going, but got kind of sick of it - pretty much every form of cancer has tripled in the last 30 to 40 years:
Liver Cancer
Esophogeal Cancer
Thyroid Cancer
Rectal Cancer
Rectal Cancer
Pancreatic Cancer
Brain Cancer
Child Cancers
Asthma, allergies, chronic pain, diabetes, thyroid disorders, depression, birth defects have all increased at approximately the same rate as cancers. In addition, reduced fertility also places a large burden on our health care system to provide fertility drugs and services to those who have trouble becoming pregnant.
Most of these long-term chronic conditions can be contributed to chemicals in consumer goods. Bisphenol A, phthalates and parabens are among the worst offenders with causative links associated with exposure, even exposure to developing fetus whil in the womb.
The extreme increase in health care costs is consistent with the extreme increase in long-term illnesses. We don't need health care reform - we need better health. Since they won't ban the chemicals that are contributing to the development oc cancers and other long-term, expensive illnesses, it is up to each of us to choose safe, natural products and reduce our own exposure to products that contain chemicals that increase the risk of long-term illnesses.

Our health care crisis is a unbelievable joke. There's a bunch of corporations shielded by law who dump chemicals that they know are human toxins in the products we use in our homes every minute of every day.
Breast cancer, skin cancer, asthma are the quickest ones that come to mind and we can't afford it anymore. Articles in the news even prove again and again that the chemicals in our products are HARMFUL to our health and out environment. Check this ridiculous TRUTH out...

We have kids slopping benzoyl peroxide all over themselves daily, usually more than once a day not knowing that benzoyl peroxide is used to INDUCE SKIN CANCER IN LAB ANIMALS WHICH HAVE BEEN GENETICALLY ALTERED TO HAVE SKIN THAT MIMICKS HUMAN SKIN TO STUDY SKIN CANCER TREATMENTS! How messed up is that? How much does the increased rate of skin cancer cost our health care system? I hope they come up with a solution for the skin cancer that is soon to be growing on the faces of these kids quick - because it's going to happen.

And the baby care products!? Chemicals in those are KNOWN to cause fertility issues later in life as well as increase the risk of deformities in their offspring - our grandchildren! And people keep buying them. Fragrances are made of phthalates - banned in babies toys that go in the mouth because of the toxic effects but not banned in baby bath products that the babies soak in once or twice a day and are rubbed all over their bums 10 to 12 times a day. Uh, anyone ever hear of 'dermal absorption'? Warm toxic bath water opening the pores to allow toxins to harm our own babies! Not banned in the lining of formula cans or plastic food storage containers. Wow, more cost for our already taxed health care system.

The rate of breast amputations, oops, I mean 'breast cancer treatments' are shooting the moon. How much does that cost our health care system?! The agony, the fear, the loss of life for those who don't catch it early enough, the permanent disfigurement - all this increased by chemicals in products we use every day.

Asthma and allergies which cause an untold amount of suffering for families of all those babies who can't breathe - but we know the cause and these chemical-laden, harmful, toxic chemicals are still on the shelves of every grocery and drug store - except the natural stores. The rate of asthma has gone from 1 in 10 to 2 in 5, and most of the increase in cases are babies! Asthma kills 11 people every day in the US - and the costs associated with asthma are astronomical and last a lifetime. But who wants to avoid the chemicals that make their babies sick? Not most people, they would rather keep buying toxins to pollute the environment of their own babies.

And then, all these chemicals, go down the drain but they can't be filtered out with our current means of filtration and aren't even tested for so they come back in the drinking water so we can drink them and feed them to our babies making them even sicker. In addition, the toxic sludge that was banned from our rivers and streams in the 1970's, banned from ocean dumping by international treaties in the 1990's is now dumped on agricultural fields - our food supply, people - and the plants take up the toxins.

You want to fight breast cancer, asthma, skin cancer? Start by getting the shit out of your home that CAUSES the diseases. The cure may be to remove the cause. We better do something soon because our health care system can't handle the medical conditions caused by our chemical laden homes. Triple the rate of cancers, triple the rate of asthma, triple the rate of learning disabilities, triple the rate of diabetes. Hmmm. Goes right along with triple the rate of toxins in products that are associated with all of these conditions, oh, and medical costs - can you say tripled? Actually it's more than that but you get the picture.
